About

I am a Montreal-raised, Toronto-based console cowboy with a pretty balanced duality of art and technology.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from McGill University, I spent the following 5 years eventually becoming a senior full-stack developer at Gameloft, the mobile arm of Ubisoft.

In 2006, I decided to chase my life-long dream of being an artist and quit my job to put my best foot forward. By early 2007 my first collaborative project, Thunderheist, was on a suprisingly fast rise. Tours became de rigeur and our shows grew a reputation for their rowdyness. We signed to the esteemed UK label Ninja Tune and released our debut (and only) album in 2009. The music has been featured in countless film, television and a few video games to boot. Highlights for me include: Darren Aranovsky's Oscar-nominated film The Wrestler, a death scene in CSI Miami and on the soundtrack to NBA2K22. We were also nominated for a Juno for Best Dance Recording. Not to mention performances at prominent festivals such as Melt(DE), Dour(BE), OYA Fest(NO) and Osheaga(CA).

After the band parted ways, I began releasing records on my own as Nautiluss in 2011. A slew of releases followed on revered record labels such as Ghostly International, Turbo Recordings and Hemlock Recordings. I was fortunate enough to have gotten spins from the likes of Mary-Anne Hobbs, Gilles Peterson early on as well as having made appearances on several BBC Radio 1 Essential Mixes. I've performed at revered venues such as Berghain/Panorama Bar and Trouw as well as showcases at prestigious festivals such as MUTEK Barcelona / Montreal, Bass Coast and SXSW.

As I approached my 40s, I had started to feel the stress and inconsistency of trying to make a living as a full-time artist. I decided to go back to my tech roots and joined Occupied VR, a promising start-up where duties included anything audio-related such as: scoring, sound design, spatial audio, music supervision and all facets of audio post-production. The clients were diverse and included Sharkwater, Flying Lotus, Samsung, The United Nations, Lincoln Motor Company, Warner Films, Intel and Vice.

As much as I enjoyed trying a new medium, I felt like I missed programming and so I started learning about the mechanisms driving AI / Machine Learning as well as getting up to date on a the latest scripting languages for full-stack development. In the past two years, I have been working as a lead developer for a blockchain-assisted art organization called Refraction DAO. My role is a mix of full-stack(NextJS + Sanity.io), smart contract (solidity) and web3 development. .
